Zu oft betrachten wir Produktivität als eine Frage des Volumens: Wie viel schaffe ich und wie schnell? Um wirklich wirkungsvolle Arbeit zu leisten, müssen wir unser Denken über Produktivität neu ausrichten: Es geht vielmehr darum, seine Zeit besser zu nutzen.
Wie nutzt du deine Zeit besser?
Zuerst müssen wir herausfinden, wie wir unsere Zeit am produktivsten nutzen können. Halte inne und frage dich:
- Was passiert, wenn ich diese scheinbar dringende Sache jetzt nicht erledige? (Denn diese dringende Sache ist wahrscheinlich gar nicht so wichtig!)
- Was sind meine wertvollsten Tätigkeiten? Was ist wirklich notwendig?
- Was kann nur ich tun, das – wenn es richtig gemacht wird – einen echten Unterschied macht?
Eine gute Methode, diese Fragen zu beantworten, ist die Verwendung einer Prioritätsmatrix, um Aufgaben nach ihrer Dringlichkeit und Wichtigkeit einzuteilen. Ich verwende gerne die folgende Matrix, die auf der Eisenhower-Matrix basiert:

Priorität #1: Es ist dringend und wichtig. Erledige es.
Deine wichtigsten Aufgaben erfordern die „jetzt erledigen“-Regel. Ebenso gilt: Wenn du eine Aufgabe siehst, die weniger als 2 Minuten dauert, erledige sie sofort (Warum? Weil du mehr Zeit darauf verwenden würdest, sie auf eine To-Do-Liste zu setzen, zu planen und zu priorisieren, als sie einfach gleich zu erledigen).
Eine wichtige Aufgabe zu beginnen und sie dann beharrlich bis zum Abschluss zu verfolgen, ist der wahre Charaktertest. Es ist nicht einfach, aber es ist der Weg zu produktivem Arbeiten. Das erfordert Selbstdisziplin, aber wir können es uns mit einigen Produktivitäts-Tools leichter machen.
Priorität #2: Es ist nicht dringend, aber trotzdem wichtig. Triff eine Entscheidung.
In diesem Fall entscheide über alle Punkte, die die Aufgabe blockieren. Lege die ideale Zeit, Person und Methode für die Erledigung der Aufgabe fest.
