Definition

An exit interview is an effective way, when done right, to capture feedback from an employee who is leaving the organization. This conversation is a way to learn about why someone is exiting, what may have been done to keep them (if you wanted to keep them), and learn about how you, the employer, may improve your organization.

How to Use it

Use this questionnaire as a conversation starter, not a prescriptive approach to an exit interview. Before you start an exit interview, know what you want to learn and focus there.
