HR Tool Expert & SEO Content Editor

My Experience

I joined the editorial team at People Managing People in January 2022 with a focus on researching and writing about different subsets of HR software. To guide my research, I draw on my 9 years of human resources experience and my keen eye for systematic processes. I am a process-oriented person, meaning I’m a sucker for a well-designed workflow.

Before joining People Managing People, I was an integral part of the HR team at a large environmental consultancy in Vancouver, Canada. In that role, I was involved in all aspects of HR administration, as well as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training and development, HR policy writing, and HR analytics.

Prior to my foray into human resources, I worked in the book publishing industry for 7 years in a variety of different roles covering sales, marketing, publicity, foreign rights, and permissions.

What Makes Me Qualified

My ability to analyze software systems has developed as a result of my educational background coupled with hands-on HR experience. I also draw on my understanding of behavioral psychology to analyze software from a user’s perspective and add more authenticity to my content.

Here are the credentials I have that allow me to do my job successfully:

  • Certified Digital HR Specialist, Academy to Innovate HR (AIRH), 2023
  • Certificate in Technical Communication, Simon Fraser University, 2014
  • Master of Publishing Degree (MPub), Simon Fraser University, 2007
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA): Psychology & Creative Writing Double Major, University of British Columbia, 2004

I’ve also been a remote worker since 2019 — well before the pandemic started — so I’m well-versed in the benefits and challenges of working remotely.
