Trying to figure out which HR software will actually solve your team’s problems, not just look good in a demo, is harder than it should be. I spent nine years inside HR departments handling everything from recruitment to HRIS data before I started writing about the tools meant to make that job easier.
Today, I work as an HR Tool Expert & Editor at People Managing People, where I research and write about HR software so you can make informed decisions without the guesswork or sales pitch. Since joining People Managing People in January 2022, I’ve researched and written hundreds of pieces comparing HR platforms, talked directly with technology providers about how their software solves real workplace problems.
Before shifting into content, I spent nearly nine years at Hatfield in progressively senior HR and administrative roles, managing everything from recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration and employee data within an HRIS system. I also coordinated training and professional development and provided in-house editorial and document production support for reports, proposals, and internal corporate policy documents.
I hold a Masters of Publishing and a Technical Communication Certificate, both from Simon Fraser University, along with a BA in Psychology and Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. I’m also a Certified Digital HR Specialist with additional certifications in prompt engineering and generative AI tools.
